Casino Nova Scotia Sydney is located in downtown Sydney and has 15,000 square feet of gaming space. Sydney is Cape Breton’s largest urban area and the Port of Sydney has become a selected destination for many prominent cruise lines. The easiest way to get there is by car from the mainland via the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 104) to the Canso Causeway. Cape Breton Island is serviced by JA Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport which is just a 15 minute drive from the casino. The casino provides free parking.

The casino has Stay and Play packages with three nearby hotels – within a six minute walking distance. They are all located on the waterfront – Cambridge Suites, Sydney; Holiday Inn on the Waterfront; and Premier Executive Suites – Spanish Bay Inn. Contact the hotels directly for rates and conditions. The Package from Casino Nova Scotia includes $10 (limited to maximum $10 per night) off your room rate at any of the hotels, a $5 Slot Play coupon, $10 off All Star Grille, free beverage coupon and a casino mug (coupons for discount room rate will be issued through Casino Nova Scotia on each day of your stay). There are a number of other hotels in the area including Hampton Inn and the less expensive Days Inn.

The casino has 301 slot machines and table games featuring 275 multi-denominational slots with a combination of  reel and video slot machines. Progressive slot machines are also available with prize giveaways. Card games include one Let-It-Ride Poker table, five Blackjack tables and one Blackjack Switch. The Poker Room features four tables of No Limit action. There are no table games on Mondays and Tuesdays. The restaurant – the All Star Grille – has an extensive menu with daily specials. There are no alcoholic beverages served between 3.00am and 7.00am. Self serve stations are set up offering complimentary coffee, tea, soft drinks and juice between those hours.
