This two storey, 80,000 square foot Roman-themed casino is able to host 890 gamblers at a time in a main floor entertainment centre that includes bar and eating areas and a 200-seat live entertainment room. Located on the bank of the beautiful Elbow River, the casino is only minutes from the downtown core and major attractions. Just across the street from Stampede Park, Elbow River Casino is close to an international airport, the major Calgary attractions and the Rocky Mountains. Free underground parking is available.

The casino has a hotel with 61 air-conditioned rooms, cable TV, complimentary toiletries and local calls. Guests at the Elbow River Casino have access to a patio area that faces the Elbow River and room service is available (though the hours of service are limited). It is a budget category hotel but within one km from the casino, you will find a number of other hotels including the Calgary Marriott Downtown and the Hyatt Regency if you prefer something a little more stylish. Cheaper options include the Fairmont Palliser and the Hotel Arts.

Elbow River Casino is home to Calgary’s best Off Track Betting facility, showing more races than anywhere else in the city. Elbow River Casino’s Poker Room is open 24/7, specialising in 4-8 and 20-40 Texas Hold’em poker. It has over 600 slot machines ranging in denominations from one penny to one dollar as well as a number of machines tied into progressive jackpots both in-house and Alberta-wide. In addition to the regular table games on the Elbow River Casino floor, it offers patrons a private high limit Baccarat room.

Each Friday and Saturday night, the Bayou Stage features free live music. Yuk Yuk’s Calgary comedy club stars all the most hilarious comedians touring through town with multiple shows every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Calgary, with a population of 1.2 million residents, is Alberta’s largest and Canada’s fourth largest metropolitan area. The observation deck at the top of Calgary Tower provides an excellent view over downtown, including Stampede Park – site of the annual Calgary Stampede – and the Saddledome, where the Calgary Flames ice hockey team plays. The nearby Calgary Zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals.
